Dr Kevin Parr is Technical Operations Manager for Specialty Agri/Horti in New Zealand. Kevin holds a Ph.D BSc (Hons) and has over 33 years’ experience in the industry. He is also a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (Cchem).

Kevin’s area of expertise lies in block co polymers, laboratory automation and design, general chemical manufacturing and agricultural chemical manufacture.

Kevin manages the running of the blending facilities at Azelis New Zealand and is an integral part of the development team for formulation of new products and revision/improvement of existing processes. Kevin holds 3 patents and has delivered papers at numerous industry conferences around the world.

Technical Sales Executive and Lab Technician for Specialty Agri/Horti, Vietnam

Nga Tu Thuy Tuyet is Technical Sales Executive and Lab Technician for Specialty Agri/Horti in Vietnam. Nga has a bachelor’s degree in Chemicals and over 12 years’ experience in production and research & development. Nga’sarea of expertise is within the formulation of plant protection products, such as herbicides, insecticides and fungicides.

Nga recently developed suspo-emulsion (SE) formulations in which stability and dispersibility were the key advantages, thanks to correct combination of the raw materials. After product launch, the customers received promising feedback from end users. Another project was with a micro-emulsion, new to Vietnam. The customer faced crystallisation problems with the imported product. Nga successfully re-formulated the product without crystallisation, which is not in its final development stage.

Working with difficult formulations is really challenging but also an inspiration. It forces me to use my expertise to create value for customers, gaining respect and loyalty. It makes me proud and satisfied to solve problems.

Luca Monterisi

Laboratory Manager for Specialty Agri/Horti, Italy

Luca Monterisi is the Laboratory Manager for Specialty Agri/Horti in Italy. Luca has a Masters Degree in Industrial Chemistry and eight years’ experience in research & development.

Luca joined Azelis in early 2019 and helped to set up the first Agri/Horti lab in EMEA. In just a few months since the opening, the lab has commenced more than 15 projects with Azelis teams in several countries. The first tailor-made solutions have already been presented, with even more on the way.

The next big project is to expand our expertise in seed coatings, to provide enhanced support for our customers.

Bob Chen

Technical Manager for Industrial Chemicals & Specialty Agri/Horti, China

Bob Chen is Technical Manager for Industrial Chemicals & Specialty Agri/Hortiin China. He hold a Master's degree in Material Science and has over 6 years’ experience as an R&D engineer in Agrochemicals. Bob’s area of expertise include pesticide adjuvants and formulations.

The Specialty Agri/Horti laboratory in Shanghai opened in 2019 and will be fully equipped to support customers with technical support and new developments.

I enjoy working in the lab. It may seem easy to work with pesticides, but a perfect formulation requires a lot of experimental work, careful attitude and rigorous scientific research spirit. So I often feel a great sense of pride and accomplishment.
