Changes in UK Polymers distribution

28 February 2008

Azelis has signed an agreement with Whyte Group to take over the business of Whyte Polymers as from 3rd March.

Whyte Polymers’ staff will move to Azelis Plastics UK offices at Thatcham, Berkshire. It is from here that the business will operate in future under the Azelis Plastics UK name.  Existing Whyte Polymers warehousing facilities at Doncaster and Felixstowe will continue to be used, providing uninterrupted service for customers.

The enlarged Azelis Plastics UK will provide a broader product offer to UK customers requiring Engineering and Commodity polymers. The effective doubling in size of Azelis Plastics UK to a turnover approaching £20 million will make it one of the major UK polymers distributors.

According to Melvyn Whyte, CEO Whyte Group, “Whyte Polymers no longer fits with our strategic ambitions. We have taken the decision to focus all our resources on our core business and this solution maintains our Principals’ route to market and provides continuity of supply for our customers who will receive expert service and support from Azelis Plastics UK”, he said.
