Azelis, a leading distributor of specialty chemicals and food ingredients, is excited to announce the opening of a new Lubricants application laboratory in Hannover, Germany. Based on a cooperation with the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hannover, this new Azelis lab is located in the internationally renowned Institute of Machine Construction and Tribology (IMKT). With this lab, Azelis can offer its customers performance testing and advanced measurements with state of the art equipment handled by its experienced lab team. The unique collaboration with the IMKT also allows the Azelis lab to stay on top of trends and developments in Lubricants.

Highlights & rationale

  • After its Lubricants lab in the United States, Azelis now opens a Lubricants lab in Germany.
  • The development work in the German lab will be in close collaboration with the University of Hannover.
  • The new application laboratory is a testimony to Azelis’ strategy to be an innovation service provider to all customers and sectors.

Dr. Hatem Baly, Azelis Technical Manager L&MWF (Lubricants & Metal Working Fluids) EMEA, comments:

“With the new Lubricants lab, we offer complete project management to our customers: starting with giving product and formulation recommendations, going to executing analysis and preliminary formulation tests to creating dossiers for OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) approvals. The advanced equipment in the lab allows different ways of testing: on the tribological side (e.g.: the Shell Four Ball test, offering a valuable reference for the classic product comparison, the Micro-Tap-Test equipment for metal working simulation), and also on the analytical side, with foam test equipment, an infrared spectrometer and so on.”

Javier Miranda, Azelis Market Segment Manager L&MWF EMEA, adds:

“This new Lubricants lab is exceptional in the European Lubricants distribution sector as it’s based on a collaboration with not only the University of Hannover and the IMKT but also with our principals who are contributing with equipment for common development projects. With our leading technology and technical support from our experienced lab team, we are able to offer unique, optimized and competitive solutions for our customers’ challenges, today and in the future.”
