Azelis CASE videos
At Azelis, CASE covers coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers, inks, building and construction products. Our products perform a multitude of tasks: creating the perfect finish or texture, vital protection, adhesion or longevity.
Choosing the best raw materials for each application is essential. Our people have many years of experience in helping manufacturers and customers who use CASE products and technology to source the most effective raw materials. We can help you to create new products, refine processes and develop commercial advantages for all your applications.
On this webpage, Azelis CASE would like to introduce a rather unknown but extremely potential polymer resin: Phenoxy
In this short video, Stefan Hagenberg from the Azelis CASE lab in Germany gives a brief introduction to the different qualities of Phenoxy. It is a linear and high molecular weight polyhydroxy ether with amazing properties. It is similar to classic epoxy resins but there a couple of important differences: it does not contain any epoxy groups, and Phenoxy molecules are larger than epoxy resins.
In this video, we explain how to produce an anti-slip friction lacquer. These kinds of coatings are usually used for safety reasons on surfaces like swimming pool floorings, stairs or at sanitary installations like bathtub bases. One of the main challenges in these kinds of formulations is the usage of so-called friction additives. To solve this task we are using Phenoxy, a high molecular polyhydroxy ether.
Many applications like furniture coatings or classic corrosion protections have the same demands. They all need resistance against aggressive chemicals like acids or organic solvents. The following formulation results in a sustainable, water-based, solvent-free and formaldehyde-free coating. This development has excellent mechanical properties and outdoor persistence. The great chemical resistance will be received by the usage of Phenoxy.
In this video, we improve the adhesion of solvent-based industrial coatings based on thermoplastic acrylics. They show great chemical resistance and outdoor durability. In addition, they will not yellow by UV light outside. The main problem of this polymer is the adhesion on different substrates. We will solve this problem by the usage of a co-binder resin based on polyhydroxy ether, Phenoxy.
