Azelis and SIBUR partner up to expand network for rubber & plastic additives in Western Europe
20 April 2021
Azelis is proud to announce it has established a new partnership with SIBUR, a major international player in the petrochemical industry. Effective immediately, this new mandate will see Azelis distribute SIBUR’s powder acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (powder NBR) products for the PVC industry in France, Iberia and Italy, and its butyl/halobutyl range in France.
Highlights & rationale
- With this partnership, Azelis strengthens its position as a key player for rubber & plastics additives in France, Iberia and Italy.
- The deal includes SIBUR’s powder NBR for PVC modifications and car brake pad applications and their butyl/halo butyl range for the packaging and automotive market.
- SIBUR found in Azelis a strong partner with thorough market knowledge, a strong market position and an extensive global sales network.
SIBUR is a fast-growing company, with a strong footprint in the plastics, elastomers and intermediates industry. As a well-known player in the global plastics industry, SIBUR is further investing in its facilities: it recently completed construction of its brand new butyl/halobutyl rubber production facility in India, which is expected to provide up to 60 ktpa capacity of Butyl + 60 ktpa capacity of halobutyl rubber. SIBUR already increased its thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) production in April 2020 with its new TPE facility in Voronezh.
Sergey Krasnozhon, Head of Sales SIBUR International GmbH at SIBUR, confirms:
“Based on their strong market footprint and existing product portfolio, as well as their strong technical capabilities, we have chosen Azelis as our exclusive partner for this product range. We are confident existing and many new customers will benefit from this new partnership, as it will grant them access to a broad product portfolio and strong technical expertise from its sales teams. Together, SIBUR and Azelis can inspire the customer with new products and solutions tailored to their needs.”
Christian Pflesser, Market Segment Director R&PA EMEA at Azelis, comments:
“We’re thrilled to now add SIBUR’s powder NBR and butyl products to our plastic & rubber additives portfolio, as these product lines can differentiate the customer’s end product on the market. Azelis can now present a more complete product offering to its PVC, pharma packaging and automotive customers and we can therefore further strengthen our position in this market.”
