Azelis creates platform in Austria

10 November 2008

Azelis has created a new company, Azelis Austria, following the purchase of the distribution assets of Weinzierl GmBH. The opportunity to do this came from the owners’, Mr Deisenhammer and Mr Eigel, decision to separate their company’s distribution arm from the production of cosmetics and cleaning products.

Azelis CEO, Hans Udo Wenzel said: “Azelis Austria as a daughter company of Azelis Alpine will create a strong platform for the further development of our Care Chemicals business, serving mainly Cognis in Austria. It will also serve the Coatings and Plastics sectors and, in time, seek to access other industry sectors in Austria through the development of synergies with other parts of Azelis.”

The deal with Weinzierl transfers the distribution business assets – contracts, stock and employees. Offices and warehouse facilities are located Brunn am Gebirge near Vienna and the new business will be managed by Gerhard Meinel, Managing Director of the Azelis Deutschland and Gerhard Stroehle of Azelis Alpine. Four employees previously working for the Weinzierl trading business are being transferred to Azelis Austria with effect from November 1st 2008.
