Azelis joins ICTA, contributing to safe and sustainable use of chemicals

22 May 2019

Azelis is pleased to announce it is now a member of ICTA, the International Chemical Trade Association. ICTA was established in 2016 to represent the interests of over 1,300 chemical distributors world-wide. ICTA fills the need of a world-wide chemical association coordinating work on issues and programmes of international interest to the global chemical trade industry. It provides a platform where chemical distributors can meet and exchange information and best practices. Joining ICTA allows Azelis to be heard on global issues and contribute to promoting the safe and sustainable use of chemicals to benefit the environment.

Highlights & rationale

  • ICTA represents the interests of the global chemical distribution industry
  • By joining ICTA, Azelis is given the opportunity to collaborate with specialists on different topics at global level that impact the chemical industry.
  • Azelis is excited to contribute to ICTA’s industry knowledge and further learn from the association’s sustainability practices by participating in ICTA’s technical committees.

Dr. Hans Joachim Müller, Azelis group CEO, comments: “Joining ICTA allows us to be on the front row for all updates on regulatory developments at UN level and to collaborate with the national associations working with the authorities and regulators who impact the chemical business. By participating in ICTA’s workshops and meetings, we can get a better understanding on how we can contribute to global regulatory developments on an international level. We also look forward to bring our experience, best practices and industry knowledge to the table.”

María Jesús Almenar Martin, Head of Azelis group Safety, Health, Environment and Quality who is leading the Corporate Social Responsibility programme at Azelis adds: “As a global business, with operations across America, Asia Pacific and EMEA, Azelis takes its responsibilities very seriously. We are always looking for new ways to make a positive impact on society and minimise our footprint, whilst delivering the best possible products and services. For our efforts in this area, we received the EcoVadis Gold rating in September 2018. Being an active member of ICTA will support our journey towards the sustainable growth of Azelis.”
