Azelis receives a B (Management) score from CDP, underscoring its commitment to minimizing its carbon footprint

13 March 2024

Azelis, a leading innovation service provider in the specialty chemicals and food ingredients industry, is proud to announce that it has obtained a B (Management) score from CDP, after taking part in the climate rating project for the first time. This score positions the company above the industry average (C score) and is a testament to its ongoing commitment to minimizing its carbon footprint and environmental impact.

CDP (formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project) is a non-profit organization that runs the global disclosure system for organizations and public institutions to manage their environmental impact. A CDP score provides a snapshot of a company’s disclosure and environmental performance and is based on an exhaustive dataset including energy, waste consumption, and estimations on Scope 3 emissions. The methodology employed is fully aligned with the Taskforce for Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and with major environmental standards.

Together with EcoVadis and Sustainalytics ratings, along with the inclusion in the BEL®ESG Index, this new CDP ranking underscores the company’s commitment to sustainability and proactive approach to environmental responsibility.

Anna Bertona, Group Chief Executive Officer at Azelis, comments:

“Through our participation in CDP’s climate rating project, we are once again keeping sustainability at the forefront of what we do. At Azelis, we aspire to be the first company that stakeholders turn to with sustainability ambitions of their own, and we will continue to actively pursue our rigorous sustainability goals while challenging ourselves to better contribute to a more sustainable future.”

Michael Heite, Group Sustainability Director at Azelis, comments:

Achieving a B score from CDP in our first year of submission is remarkable, and we are truly proud to see us stand out from the sector average. For Azelis this is another performance indicator that confirms we are on the right track toward our sustainability goals for 2025. At the same time, this achievement strongly motivates us to work hard towards creating even more impact via our climate related-activities and improving our score.”

Launched in 2015, Azelis’ sustainability strategy, Action 2025, forms the basis on which Azelis pursues its mission to be a leading provider of sustainable products and services in its sector. This assessment will play an important role in shaping Azelis’ refined sustainability strategy and the goals set for 2028.
