New markets and growth opportunities for the Organic Specialities range

1 June 2017

Azelis has achieved COSMOS certification for the Organic Specialities business located in the UK.

The certification is an ingredients licence that replaces the existing Soil Association accreditation. COSMOS is important for Azelis since it allows products to be marketed in regions where the previous accreditation is not accepted as an organic certification. With this, Azelis can open up new markets and growing sales for the Organic Specialities range.

COSMOS is linking up the various regional organic certification bodies, such as Soil Association and ECOCERT, removing the requirement for multiple certification costs and site inspections. It will be maintained by ongoing assessment and a physical site inspection every year to ensure continued compliance with these standards.

Consumers are more conscious about their health and beauty than ever before. They have created an increasing demand for products that work with nature, without compromising on quality. Moreover, they now look for proof of a certification symbol before purchasing a natural or organic product, which makes it imperative to continue to offer high quality ingredients.

Graham Bott, Azelis Fragrance Ingredients & Organic Specialities Regional Market Manager, comments: “We are delighted to have been awarded the Soil Association COSMOS certification which is internationally recognised. This allows our global sales team to offer our wide range of organic specialities to many countries through the Azelis Own Brands network, as well as promote to a wider range of customers within the UK. I want to thank the diligence and hard work of my team here at the Tur Langton site, for getting everything in place to meet the standards of COSMOS.”
